This year, Sujit Kumar Panda will receive the 17th ‘Timepass Booker Puraskar’ for his short story manuscript, ‘Jhanta Lahare Suryasta’. This prize, which is granted annually to a below 45-year-old Odia fiction writer, will be presented during a literary festival, and the winning manuscript will be turned into a book.Additionally, this year’s nominees for the “Timepass Bestseller Puraskar,” which is awarded to the book chosen by readers as their favorite, Chirashree Indrasingh’s “Nabhisutra” in the short-story category, Saroj Mohapatra’s “Marfatre Mun” in the poetry category, and Anil Kumar Parhi’s “Adimula” in the fiction category. Bikash Satpathy is the recipient of this year’s “Timepass Bahibandhu Samman,” as he works selflessly to promote Odia books and library.Timepass has arranged the fifth edition of the ‘Utsahitya’ event on December 21 & 22 to felicitate all of the honorees. This all-day program features numerous well-known and up-and-coming writers from Odisha.Saroj Bal, the director of the publication, stated in a press-release that events will include discussions, a poetry catwalk, musical cocktails, film screenings, writer gossip, poetry and picture duets, book launches, interviews, and Q&A sessions on a range of literary topics.
