Bhubaneswar: [18 July 2024] An interactive session with the Young Indians (YI) Coimbatore and YI Bhubaneswar Chapter was held today at the conference hall of IDCO. The session was graced by Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble Minister of Industries and Skill Development & Technical Education, who attended as the Chief Guest and engaged with the delegates from Coimbatore. Senior delegates from the government were also present, adding to the significance of the meeting.
In his address, Shri Swain highlighted Odisha’s potential as a prime destination for entrepreneurs from Coimbatore, particularly in the Textiles & Apparel and Engineering Goods sectors. He noted, “Odisha is a potential destination for entrepreneurs from Coimbatore as a choice for expansion of units specifically in the Textiles & Apparel and the Engineering Goods Sectors. Apart from offering best-in-class policy incentives under IPR 2022 & Odisha Apparel & Technical Textile Policy 2022, the state offers strategic advantages in terms of availability of skilled manpower, large markets for the products, and world-class infrastructure.”
Shri Swain emphasized the presence of large mother units in the state, which provide opportunities for the supply of Engineering and Capital Goods. He highlighted the “Skilled in Odisha” program, which has established itself as a strong brand. With top-tier engineering colleges, an efficient ITI ecosystem, and the new World Skills Centre developed in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Institute of Technical Education and Educational Services (ITEES), Singapore, Odisha is emerging as the Skill Hub of the East.
The interactive session aimed to foster collaboration between the Young Indians from Coimbatore and Bhubaneswar, encouraging investment and growth opportunities in Odisha. The meeting provided a platform for delegates to explore the benefits of expanding their operations to Odisha and leveraging the state’s robust infrastructure and skilled workforce.
