Bhubaneswar:23.07 Eminent film director Himansu Khatua’s Odia documentary ‘The Sea & Seven Villages’, produced by Dr Iti Samanta and presented by Achyuta Samanta under the banner of Kadambini Media, has been selected for the ‘Long Documentary Competition’ section of the 15th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK).
The festival is scheduled to be held in Kerala from August 4 to 9. The documentary is the result of exhaustive research work carried out by Mr Khatua. He wants to give a vivid message about climate change and its impact on Satabhaya.
Satabhaya, once a cluster of seven villages, is said to be the first orphan of Climate change after five villages have taken watery graves with the passing of time. The documentary also gives a real picture about the life and struggle of the people of Satabhaya, known for their dare devilry attitude in facing the onslaught of the sea.
