The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bhubaneswar organized its Graduation Show for the year 2024 on 30th May. This prestigious fashion extravaganza marked the culmination of years of hard work and dedication by NIFT Bhubaneswar’s final-year students’ batch 2024 from various departments including Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories, Textile Design, Fashion Technology, and Fashion Management. It was an evening filled with creativity, innovation, and impeccable style, as the talented young students showcased their exceptional collections and creation across various fashion disciplines.
The ceremony commenced with our esteemed honourable Chief Guest Mr. Sarvesh Ranjan, General Manager and zonal head of Union Bank, lighting the lamps. Our esteemed panel of guests included Mr. Krishna Gupta, Mr. Biranchi Sahoo and Mr. Bauri Raula. Their presence added an aura of significance and honor to the occasion.
The Director, Shri Rajesh Kumar Jha, delivered a warm and inspiring welcome address, expressing his pride in the students’ achievements and recognizing the unwavering support provided by the faculty and staff. Our honorable chief guest Mr. Sarvesh Ranjan expressed his awe and admiration for the exceptional work of the students, recognizing their extraordinary talent and boundless creativity. He highlighted the innovation and newness in the academic industry, inspiring the students to embrace their unique creative abilities and make a lasting impact in the fashion world.
The Fashion Design department of Bhubaneswar celebrated “Fashionova 2024” a remarkable fashion show where 14 thematic collections were showcased, each inspired by unique themes and concepts. Some of them like, “Madhukori” inspired by Bauls of Shantiniketan, and “Anomalies detected” which is based on fictional anomalies in quantum physics. The Textile Design department presented their event “Tantu,” featuring themes from Abandoned Mansions of Chatnal to Water pollution and bio-amplification, among others. This showcase displayed the department’s innovative approach to textile design, blending cultural influences and creating unique patterns and textures. The Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory Design department exhibited its design concepts and inspirations through a collection of home decor items, introducing fresh and inventive ideas. This display highlighted the department’s ability to translate their creativity into functional and aesthetically pleasing accessories for the home. Mr. Madhav Kumar, who won the best graduation Project in Fashion & lifestyle Accessory design, showcased a beautiful series of pendant and table lamps, inspired from tree fungus and shrooms. The Fashion Communication department exemplifies a forward-thinking approach, seamlessly integrating digital and media technologies into their work. Their projects showcase a mastery of visual and media communication strategies, effectively conveying fashion-related messages across diverse platforms. This department has demonstrably contributed to advancements in augmented and virtual reality, graphic design, UI/UX design, copywriting, web design, fashion photography, styling, and videography. Their presentations embody a commitment to innovation and creative problem-solving, pushing boundaries and making significant contributions to various facets of the fashion industry.
The Graduation Show 2024 included the distribution of graduation awards and felicitations to outstanding students, recognizing their exemplary talent and dedication. Fashion Communication Department felicitated Ms. Harshita Bhogi for Best Graduation Project in the first place and Ms. Tanisha Iyer for Best Graduation Project in second place along with most innovative project. Textile Design Department felicitated Ms. Smita Chakraborty, Ms. Arushi Johri, and Ms. Sonali Kumari. Fashion Management Studies Department felicitated Ms. Sakshi Mahajan, Ms. Jayrekha K, and Ms. Soumya Garg. Fashion Design Department felicitated_______, _________, and_______. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Central Academic Coordinator Dr. Santosh Tarai Associate Professor of Fashion Management Studies. He expressed his gratitude to the honorable guests for their presence. And he also appreciated the graduating students 2024, NIFT BBSR faculty members, and student volunteers for the success of the show. After the vote of Thanks the show was graced with a group photo. The evening concluded with a delightful dinner, allowing attendees to connect, celebrate, and relish the joyous atmosphere.
