In order to commemorate the 155th Birth Anniversary of THE MAHATMA, Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium School, Bhubaneswar is all set to propel the journey to instil in the youth of
the 21st century, the legacy of love and non-violence propagated by Mahatma Gandhi during his arduous struggle for freedom. BJEM School in collaboration with Alumni Association, Govt.
High School, Badagada Bhubaneswar has been proudly organising the programme Students Remember Mahatma Gandhi (SRMG) since 2019 with the sole objective of enlightening the young minds with Gandhian values through different activities and competitions on the topics
related to Gandhiji and his contributions to society. Our patron-in-chief for this mission and alumnae of Govt. High School, Badagada, Shri. Harun Rashid Khan, Former Deputy Governor,
Reserve Bank of India alongwith other leading members of Alumni Association Sri Pratap Kumar Jena (Secretary, BJ Education Society-cum-Convener, Alumni Association, Govt. High
School, Badagada), Sri Manas Mohapatra (President of Alumni Association, Govt. High School, Badagada), Sri Raghunath Mishra (Chairman-BJEM School) have been the guiding force in this magnificent journey of observation. The Union Bank of India, Mumbai which was
inaugurated by the Mahatma himself in 1919, is adding substantial weightage to the programme by extending its valuable support since the inception of the programme.In the 6th edition of “STUDENTS REMEMBER MAHATMA GANDHI (SRMG)-2024” –
Inter-school Competitions in Story Telling, Drawing & Painting, Article Writing, Elocution,
Quiz and Patriotic Group Dance were held in which more than 250 students from Std.- III to XII from around 40 schools (Odia and English medium) participated enthusiastically. The prize
winners for all the competitions will be felicitated on 2nd October 2024 on the 155th BirthAnniversary Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi in the school campus at 9.40 AM.The Gandhi Jayanti Celebration on 2nd October 2024 will commence with “All Faith Prayer” at
7.30 a.m. followed by the Padayatra (Peace March). The General meeting will commence from 9.45 a.m. marked by the ‘Prize Giving Ceremony’. We are delighted to inform you that
Sri Sarvesh Ranjan, General Manager (Zonal Head) and Sri Niranjan Barik, Dy. GeneralManager, Union Bank of India, Bhubaneswar Region, have given their kind consent to be the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively on this occasion and Sri Gourang Charan
Parida, eminent writer, has agreed to address the august gathering as the Chief Speaker. We are
also overwhelmed to inform you that we will have the honour to felicitate eminent Gandhian Sri
Ramahari Goswami on this occasion. We will also felicitate Late Shyamsundar Behera posthumously. A Gandhi Gallery will also be inaugurated on this occasion inside the School campus.We look forward to your gracious presence for the wide coverage of such a noble programme on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
