Vehicles Illegally Parked in Janpath, Sahid Nagar to be Impounded.

Bhubaneswar, 7th July 2023 – In a concerted effort to address the issue of illegal parking and ensure smooth transportation for citizens, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the removal of illegal parking from Janpath, Sahid Nagar. The initiative was discussed in a meeting chaired by Mayor Sulochana Das, where representatives from local businesses and house owners were present.Mayor Sulochana Das urged citizens to utilize the Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility instead of parking on the roadside. She specifically requested businessmen and their workers, who lack designated parking areas, to make use of the MLCP in Sahid Nagar. Customers visiting the area were also encouraged to park their vehicles in the designated parking facility.
To maintain the city’s aesthetic appeal, the BMC has established the MLCP to cater to the parking needs of Bhubaneswar’s residents. The issue of parking congestion caused by businesses, workers, and customers parking on the roadside has been recognized as a major concern. The Commissioner has directed those who own multiple vehicles to strictly adhere to parking guidelines. The MLCP in Sahid Nagar offers parking spaces for 200 four-wheelers, 300 two-wheelers, and 200 cycles, providing ample space for parking needs.
During the meeting, attended by the Honorable Mayor, BMC Commissioner, local corporator Shri Raj Kishor Das, Additional Commissioner Suryavanshi Mayur Vikash, Zonal Deputy Commissioner Priyabrata Padhi, General Manager of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) Shri Subrat Behera, house owners, businessmen, their representatives, and the agency responsible for the MLCP, discussions were held on ensuring effective implementation of the parking arrangements.The BMC emphasizes the importance of adhering to the agreed-upon arrangements for parking, particularly for those who have obtained permission from the corporation for business purposes. Mayor Sulochana Das has urged all stakeholders to honor their commitments and contribute to the smooth functioning of transportation in the city.This decision reflects BMC’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure and creating a better experience for the citizens of Bhubaneswar. By utilizing the MLCP facilities, citizens can contribute to the reduction of traffic congestion on the roads while ensuring a safer and more organized parking system.
